Dear Students, Parents, and Esteemed Stakeholders,
It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the Department of Data Sciences Engineering at D.Y. Patil Education Society (Deemed to be University), School of Engineering and Management.
Our department stands at the forefront of the data-driven revolution, preparing the next generation of data professionals who will extract meaningful insights, build intelligent systems, and drive technological advancement across all sectors.
The Department of Data Sciences Engineering offers specialized undergraduate programs, including B.Tech. in Data Sciences Engineering and a focused track with Honors in Cyber Security, with an intake of 60 dedicated students. Our curriculum bridges the gap between traditional engineering principles and cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data analytics, fully aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.
Our state-of-the-art infrastructure provides students with access to industry-standard tools and software in specialized laboratories, complemented by high-speed connectivity and modern learning management systems. However, technology alone doesn’t create excellence—it’s the combination of world-class facilities, expert faculty with over 15 years of average experience, and a student-centric pedagogical approach that truly makes the difference.
We firmly believe that data science cannot be learned through lectures alone. Our curriculum emphasizes hands-on experience through comprehensive capstone projects, industry internships, and collaborative research opportunities. Students engage with real-world datasets, tackle complex analytical challenges, and develop solutions that have genuine impact.
We believe in developing not just skilled professionals, but responsible citizens who will use data science for the betterment of society.
Our student support services—including the merit-based Sou. Shantadevi D. Patil Merit Scholarship, comprehensive mentoring, and counseling support—ensure that every student receives the guidance needed to excel.
We encourage research-driven learning with focus areas spanning advanced machine learning, big data analytics, cybersecurity in data systems, natural language processing, and computer vision. Our integration with premier platforms like NPTEL and SWAYAM, combined with our mentor-mentee system, provides students with continuous opportunities for skill enhancement and professional growth.
At the Department of Data Sciences Engineering, we don’t just teach data science—we cultivate data innovators who will unlock the power of data to solve complex challenges and create a better future.
Welcome to a department where data meets vision, and students become pioneers of the digital age.
With best wishes,
Qualified and Experienced Faculty Members
